Aeon Computers in San Francisco provided us with many hours of computer access and digital needs. This web site would not exist without them.

Aerostich and its founder Andy Goldfine have compiled the final word in adventure gear. They provided us with Darien riding suits, Combat Touring boots, and advice all at a sizeable discount. With this stuff, you can go anywhere you want!

Arai Helmets manufacture some of the finest safety gear in the business. For us, complimentary Arai DS (Dual Sport) helmets kept our noggins' safe from harm. And the flashy colors had us looking good, too.

Dunlop Tires connect the road and the motorcycle like no other rubber. They donated 16 Trailmax Dual-Sport tires (8 front, 8 rear) for our trip, which handled the asphalt and the dirt with equal confidence, and they lasted the entire 14,000 miles, and more!

What can we say about Kawasaki. Our brand new 1997 KLR 650's came with a bargain-basement price tag, thanks to Kawasaki Motors USA; their legendary engineering and reliability did the rest. We couldn't have done it without Team Green, providing support, parts, and service throughout Central and South America.

Eastman Kodak, preeminent makers of photographic film, provided a variety of films - from high speed color to slow black and white - for our 35mm cameras and even a 2-1/4" format camera.

Las Hayas Resort Hotel

Luxury at the bottom of the world. This 5-star hotel opened up its doors for our wearier than weary bones and made us feel at home. Nestled at the base of the mountains, with views of the entire city and showers that can't be beat, the Las Hayas is the only place to stay in Ushuaia.
Leica gave us not one, but TWO compact and rugged Minilux 35mm cameras to capture the incredible sights and experiences on the trip. And when the brutal Andes crossing, with constant cold and moisture, got the best of one, Leica quickly sent a replacement. The photos we have from these tiny wonders

With cargo space at a premium, NEC came to our rescue with the Versa 4200 laptop. This little beauty took a beating, including 3/4 of the screen smashing in a minor motorcycle accident, but it kept working right up until the end. With machines such as this, the digital travel diary has come of age.

State of the Art best describes the two RDC-1 digital cameras given to us by Ricoh. With the additional 20mb PC card, these miraculous machines can hold 100 photos at top quality! Incredibly easy to use and interface with our laptop, we won't go anywhere else without them. Virtually every photo in our website came from these cameras, so you know we know what we're talking about!

Satellite airtime doesn't come cheap, but when Skysite agreed to cover the costs, we knew our cybertravel website would be a reality. If these guys could have taken 4 months off from work, we would have had the entire company on the trip.

Although The North Face is not known for sponsoring machine-powered events, they clearly saw the human element in our long trek. A bevy of tents and sleeping bags kept us comfortable when four walls just weren't a possibility, such as the desolate expanse of the Argentinian pampas.

Cellular phones - move over and make room for the Big Boys - SATELLITE PHONES! From Westinghouse came our high-tech link to the web. With reliable voice and data transmissions even in the middle of nowhere, you're never out of touch. Unfortunately, the phone didn't stand up to being mounted on the back of a motorcycle for long, or maybe it was just Gary's driving.

There really are no words to express our gratitude to the Westin Caesar Park Panama City. When we were stuck in Panama, they extended their initial commitment of 5 complimentary nights to an astonishing 10. With unlimited access to facilities like the Business Center and the gym, and growing friendships with so many of the staff, we will always consider this top-quality hotel to be more like a second home.
