Special AeroSur Airline Supplement

From the Center of Bolivia to the Wilds of the Brazilian Pantanal with Speed and Comfort

AeroSur Rocks!!!

The hospitality and support in Bolivia for Riding to the Moon has been abundant and enthusiastic. We are proud to announce a new member among our ever-growing list of corporate sponsors - the Bolivian airline AeroSur.

Falling behind schedule once again and faced with disheartening prospects on how to proceed from Santa Cruz de Allende in the middle of Bolivia to the city of Puerto Suarez on the border with Brasil, AeroSur has come to our aid. Instead of putting ourselves on a 13-hour, notoriously uncomfortable passenger train and our motorcycles on a second cargo train of dubious punctuality, possibly delaying the bikes up to two days en route, we will now be flying quickly and comfortably over the dense jungles of eastern Bolivia, our bikes secure in the cargo hold beneath the plane.

Round peg / Square Hole

Our good friends and Kawasaki distributors of Bolivia, Juan Carlos and Cynthia de Salvatierra of Visal Import-Export, placed an impassioned call on our behalf to Franklin Taendler, the president of AeroSur, describing to him the details of the Riding to the Moon event and explained to him our current predicament.

Without a moment's hesitation, Mr. Taendler offered the services of AeroSur to the team. With the purchase of three regular tickets we would receive complimentary cargo passage of the motorcycles. At a price of US$1 for every 5 pounds, the price of flying the bikes would have cost as much as $350 total.

Once at the airport the following morning, the professional and friendly employees of AeroSur gently took charge of our motorcycles to load them onto the plane.

The hour long flight was extremely pleasant and afforded us the opportunity to cover a long expanse of difficult terrain while still being able to enjoy the sights from the air. Upon landing, the bikes were immediately available to be driven away to our next destination.

We are grateful to Franklin Taendler and AeroSur for their sponsorship. When travelling within Bolivia, we highly recommend using this fine airline for all of your destinations.

Sincerely,

The Riding to the Moon Team
