When we were united in Lima, Peru, we decided to split into two groups. This was due to the impending wedding of Jim's brother on Feb. 1st. So, in order for Jim to make it to Ushuaia, he needed to hi-tail it down the west coast. Gary, David, and Alex wanted to make the incredible journey across the Amazon, so they headed east and completed the trip to Ushuaia together. Jay had more time than anybody, so he figured he could travel with Jim and check out Brazil on his way back (which he did). The goal was for all of us to reach Ushuaia, Argentina, the southern most city in the world.
Our 50th Day was our last day together as a group. But of course we were and continue to be together in spirit.

Jason had lost his license plate in the Andes and was now waiting for a replacement to be shipped from Canada. Jim waited a couple of extra days, but finally he had to leave in order to complete the trip. They agreed that they were now ready to travel on their own--Jim had picked up the motorcycle maintenance skills he needed under Jay's tuteledge, and Jay now had enough Spanish (and email) under his belt to make his way. Keep your feet on the pegs buddy!
